As we start Term 4, I am enjoying our progress in our first year with our first cohort of students as well as looking forward to the events that will take place this term. Many students received awards at the end of Term 3 assembly, including the handing out of badges for School Captains, SRC leaders and members and House Captains. It was also pleasing to see the high number of students receiving Attendance Awards, as the saying goes “Everyday counts.” This term we are working towards our semester 2 assessments and celebrating these and other awards on our Presentation Afternoon early December. We are holding our first Year 7 Camp which will be smaller in numbers than we had planned for but will be an exciting opportunity for those students who are attending.
This term we are also focusing on planning for next year, working on enrolling new students, employing new staff, finalising our documentation for Year 7 and working on documented curriculum and assessments for Year 8 for next year. Please see the calendar for the dates when staff are working without students or with an alternative program.
I appreciate the consideration parents/carers are showing at the front of the school when dropping off and picking up students. People are driving slowly, being aware of students crossing the road and there are less u-turns which assists with safety and the flow of the traffic. Please drive in and continue in the same direction to drive out.
Timely arrival at 8.30am or earlier is very important so that students have the time to walk to their lockers in the junior school and to be outside their classroom before the bell for period one. Lateness means missed learning time. Thank you to parents who are supporting their student and the school in this important start to the day.
Wishing everyone a lovely final term for our first year.

Welcome Back to Term 4
Welcome back to Term 4! We hope all our students, families and staff have had a restful and enjoyable break. As we move into the final term of the school year, we look forward to an exciting and productive few weeks filled with learning, celebration and reflection on all that has been achieved so far.
End-of-Term 3 Celebration
In the final week of Term 3, we had the pleasure of welcoming families to our whole-school assembly. It was a wonderful opportunity to come together as a community and celebrate the many achievements of our students.
A highlight of the assembly was the presentation of student leadership badges. Our new student leaders were formally recognised for their commitment, enthusiasm and willingness to take on leadership roles within our school. It was heartwarming to see families proudly watching as their children received their badges on stage.
We also took time to acknowledge the remarkable accomplishments of students who participated in a range of enrichment activities throughout the term. Students involved in the Model United Nations and the Premiers’ Reading Challenge were celebrated for their initiative and dedication. Recognition was also given to those who excelled in Humanities studies, achieved 100% attendance, and demonstrated exceptional academic and personal progress through the Growth Awards.
These moments of recognition reflect the diverse talents, interests and hard work of our students. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and grateful for the ongoing support of families and staff who continue to encourage our young people to reach their potential.
Year 7 Camp Update
We are excited to confirm details for the Year 7 Camp, which will now run as a single camp from Wednesday 12 November to Friday 14 November. While there have been some adjustments to the original schedule, we are confident that this format will provide all students with a memorable and rewarding experience.
The camp is an important opportunity for our Year 7 students to strengthen friendships, build teamwork skills and celebrate their first year of secondary school together.
We would like to sincerely thank all families who have already paid the first instalment for the camp. Further details, including packing lists, activity schedules, and consent forms, will be shared soon via Compass. Please keep an eye out for updates in the coming weeks.
Booklist Information
As we approach the end of the school year, preparations for 2026 are already underway. The Booklist for next year will be published in the coming weeks on Compass. Families will receive a notification once the list is available, along with details on how to order materials and important dates to keep in mind.
Wulerrp Secondary College proudly celebrated its very first Science Week from 8th to the 12th of September, 2025- a week filled with curiosity, creativity, and discovery! From exciting hands-on experiments to thought-provoking challenges, students embraced the spirit of scientific exploration and teamwork that makes learning both fun and meaningful.
Throughout the week, classrooms came alive as students investigated real-world phenomena, tested hypotheses, and explored the wonders of biology, chemistry, physics, and earth science. The theme for this year encouraged students to think critically, ask questions, and connect science to everyday life.
Highlights included interactive demonstrations, lunchtime STEM activities, and class-based projects where students applied their learning to design, build, and test solutions to real problems. The enthusiasm and energy displayed by our budding scientists were truly inspiring!
Our dedicated Science staff did a fantastic job creating engaging learning experiences and fostering a genuine love of science across all year levels. A special thank you goes to the teachers, laboratory staff, and student helpers whose efforts made this inaugural Science Week a great success.
We look forward to building on this momentum in the years ahead — nurturing curiosity, innovation, and scientific thinking as central parts of our school culture.
At Wulerrp Secondary College, Science Week was not just about experiments — it was about sparking wonder and celebrating the joy of discovery!

In Term 3, a group of students had the opportunity to participate in a 6-week Empower Girls Program ran by city of Casey, designed to build confidence, foster positive friendships, and equip girls with tools for lifelong wellbeing.
Each week focused on a different theme, including friendship building, empowering communication, resilience, and self-care. Through hands-on activities, discussions, and reflection, the girls explored how to express themselves confidently, support one another, and manage challenges with courage and kindness.
The program created a safe and supportive space where students could connect, grow, and celebrate what it means to be strong, empowered young women. We are proud of everyone who took part and look forward to seeing how they continue to lead and uplift those around them..png)

Last term, 36 of our students stepped into the shoes of world leaders at our school’s Model United Nations Conference, debating the global issue of “Standing with Refugees: Who Has the Responsibility?”
Students worked in pairs as country delegations, representing nations from across the globe. The day was structured in true United Nations style, with Mr Kris Johnson serving as Chair, Mrs Punnoos as Secretary-General, and Ms Entwistle as the UN Human Rights Commissioner for Refugees.
The conference followed a formal agenda of opening statements, a moderated caucus, and an unmoderated caucus. Delegates delivered persuasive speeches, formed alliances, and navigated the complexities of international diplomacy. Midway through, hidden agendas were introduced, challenging delegates to adapt their positions, rethink strategies, and demonstrate resilience and collaboration under pressure.
As blocs formed, students negotiated resolutions addressing refugee responsibility, funding mechanisms, and humanitarian cooperation. Each resolution was debated and then put to a final vote—a process that captured the energy and urgency of real-world international decision-making.
Beyond the procedural learning, students demonstrated remarkable growth in public speaking, negotiation, and critical thinking. Many stepped well outside their comfort zones to speak publicly, defend difficult positions, and build alliances with delegates they might not ordinarily work with.
This event was the culmination of weeks of Friday lunchtime preparation sessions, where students researched their assigned countries, explored global refugee policy, and developed nuanced perspectives on responsibility and compassion in international contexts.
We are incredibly proud of every delegate for their commitment, diplomacy, and professionalism throughout the day. A special thank you goes to Mr Johnson, Mrs Punnoos, and Ms Entwistle for their leadership and support in bringing authenticity to the proceedings.
The Model UN Conference was not only a celebration of student voice and agency but also a testament to our students’ ability to engage deeply with complex global issues thoughtfully, respectfully, and with courage.

Congratulations to all students that completed the Premiers' Reading Challenge. They were awarded certificates during assembly at the start of Term 4 to celebrate their efforts.
